What Does Ethics in the Aviation Profession Mean to You?

 

The discovery of flight was achieved with perseverance.  A good example to follow is the Wright brothers and everyone that helped them to reach this goal. They were pilots, inventors, mechanics, and engineers. Without a personality full of courage, motivation, and ethics this might have never happened.

Merriam-Webster (n.d.) dictionary defines ethics as a guiding philosophy, which mentally guides a person to do everything in a correct manner. It’s a way of thinking and behaving. Accidents, incidents, and violations are the worst thing that can happen in the aviation industry. 

The behavior of everyone that is involved in the aviation industry is very important. This responsibility starts from the engineers that build the airplanes, to the ramp agents that load the bags, to the crew that flies the aircraft. Every certificate and position is a privilege that includes limitations that follow the Federal aviation regulations, this helps them maintain aviation safety at its maximum level. 

It's necessary for a person who works in professional aviation to have good moral values, and ethics. They are necessary to avoid, terrorist attacks, and the damage of expensive equipment. And the most important out of all is the life of our passengers and crew. 

Good ethics would avoid catastrophes, accidents, and incidents. This is why it is necessary the qualities of good and respectable professionals if a person wants to pursue an aviation career.
